Gupshup is cheaper per message. Here is what each price covers
Gupshup's self-serve API charges the Meta rate plus a tenth of a cent per message, with no monthly fee, so on unit price it comes in below us. The difference is in what you get around the message, and in the messages your customers send you.
Gupshup is a messaging API provider with a self-serve, prepaid model: no subscription, no setup fee, a wallet you top up and a small fee on each message. For a developer team that wants the channel and nothing else, that is efficient. For an operation that needs an inbox, campaigns, journeys and an AI agent under one monthly price, with a team to call, the math changes.
The price per message, side by side
Gupshup bills the Meta rate at actuals and adds a standard fee of $0.001 per message. For a utility template to a US number, that is $0.0034 from Meta plus $0.001 from Gupshup, $0.0044 in total; CCX's all-in price for the same message is US$0.0084, on every plan. On unit price, Gupshup is lower.
Gupshup's $0.001 also applies to session messages your customers send you, so every inbound message carries the fee; CCX doesn't charge for inbound messages. Gupshup's self-serve plan has no monthly subscription, while our plans start at US$39 a month and include the platform. Weigh the whole month, not just the unit price.

When Gupshup is the right call
- You want only the API: no subscription, no setup fee and a prepaid wallet from $10.
- Your team builds its own product on top of the API and needs only the channel.
- Almost all of your traffic is outbound templates, so the fee on inbound messages barely shows on the bill.
When CCX is the right call
- You want an AI agent that answers from your catalog and knowledge base in the same inbox, billed per interaction from US$0.02.
- Your customers write to you a lot: we don't charge for messages you receive, and Gupshup charges its fee on incoming session messages too.
- You want the platform with it: inbox, routing, campaigns, journeys and reporting in one monthly fee, US$39 to US$399.
- You want support from the team that runs the platform, on business days from 9 am to 6 pm BrasÃlia time; Gupshup's self-serve support is by email.
About moving off Gupshup

Does Gupshup charge for messages you receive?
Its fee does. Gupshup's table lists the $0.001 fee for session messages, outgoing and incoming text. Meta doesn't charge for messages users send to a business. CCX doesn't charge for inbound messages.
Does Gupshup charge a monthly fee?
Not on the self-serve plan: Gupshup's documentation says it is free to set up, with no billing commitment or monthly subscription fee. You top up a prepaid wallet, from $10, and credits are non-refundable. CCX charges a monthly plan from US$39, which includes the platform.
Where does Gupshup store data?
Its privacy policy says personal information is stored at or processed in the United States, Europe and Asia. At CCX, data lives in São Paulo; only Meta delivery and AI inference run outside Brazil.
How does moving the number work?
The number is yours and stays yours: what changes is which platform answers for it at Meta. You connect it through Meta's own signup flow, and we walk through the migration with you.
